Bob Chapman : Every major Bank in The US and Europe is Broke

Bob Chapman on The Sovereign Economist 16 June 2010

From The International Forecaster of the 16th June 2010 : "US banks are fighting to preserve the use of securities that help them appear better capitalized, even as their investments in each others notes perpetuate what one regulator calls a downward spiral of losses. The cross-ownership, largely unnoticed by bank supervisors who generally discourage the practice, was made possible by a Wall Street innovation like the ones that allowed subprime mortgages to flourish. Small lenders were able to sell trust-preferred securities, known as TruPS, because investment bankers packaged them with those issued by dozens of other financial institutions."

Mr. Robert Chapman also known as The International Forecaster is a 74 years old. He was born in Boston, MA and attended Northeastern University majoring in business management. He spent three years in the U. S. Army Counterintelligence, mostly in Europe. He speaks German and French and is conversant in Spanish. He lived in Europe for six years, off and on, three years in Africa, a year in Canada and a year in the Bahamas.

Mr. Chapman became a stockbroker in 1960 and retired in 1988. For 18 of those years he owned his own brokerage firm. He was probably the largest gold and silver stockbroker in the world during that period. When he retired he had over 6,000 clients.
Bob Chapman : you got to remove these people from the government
Starting in 1967 Mr. Chapman began writing articles on business, finance, economics and politics having been printed and reprinted over the years in over 200 publications. He owned and wrote the Gary Allen Report, which had 30,000 subscribers. He currently is owner and editor of The International Forecaster, a compendium of information on business, finance, economics and social and political issues worldwide, which reaches 10,000 investors and brokers monthly directly, and parts of his publication are picked up by 60 different websites weekly exposing his ideas to over 10 million investors a week.

In June of 1991, at the request of business associates, and due to retirement boredom, he began writing the International Forecaster.

Bob Chapman : They will use the Oil spill to pass The cap and trade

Bob Chapman on Discount Gold and Silver Trading 16 June 2010

Extract from the International Forecaster of 16 June 2010:"Our fiat currency (paper or digital “money” without gold or silver backing that is intrinsically worthless) was originally promoted as a device by means of which “liquidity” could be managed by the government and/or Federal Reserve. The object was to avoid slumps in the business cycle and increase the efficiency of our economy. That rationale sounds great, but the consequence of being able to spin an endless supply of fiat dollars into circulation has been the creation of a governmental and private debt that’s too great to ever be repaid. Increased monetary efficiency has increased our vulnerability to an economic collapse. "

Bob Chapman : Peak Oil is a Fairy tale

John Stadtmiller - June 15 2010- Robby Noel, Bob Chapman- Financial Round table

Highlights:

John called into the show for the first few minutes. Seems a couple of idiots who called some RBN shows used some less than colorful language while their San Antonio station was on the air. RBN was fined $5000 by the FCC , suspended from the San Antonio station for 15 days and now has to use a 7 second delay. The plan to go on other stations still goes forth.

Since John was not feeling well. Robby and Bob Chapman took over the program.

Bob asks how could all the so called financial experts be wrong most of the time and still have subscribers. Robby maintains that the Gold market still has a long way to go to be on parity with 1980. Using 1980 figures...Gold should be $2500 ( a ounce).

A caller mentions that Mike Ruppert was on Russia Today and mentioned Peak Oil, Bob disagrees.

29:56
Caller asks about Germany. Bob mentioned the German people never wanted the Euro and people there are fed up. There have been demonstrations in Berlin and Stuttgart. (I don't recall if such demonstrations were ever covered by the American media.)

The recent concerns by Zbigniew Brzezinski seem to apply to the European Union as well. The EU could fall apart according to Bob. The problems in Europe will affect the U.S. as well as the rest of the world.

37:41
We are headed into a deflationary period, there has to be a infusion of cash soon as there is a six month lag time. Caller asks about IRA's.

60:10
Robby mentions the recent concerns about Gold confiscation by the U.S. Government. Bob says if the Government wants it, they will get it...unless you defend it. If you move your assets to another country they could still get it...Bob says "you are dealing with criminals".

A caller mentions the book "None Dare Call It A Conspiracy" being instrumental in learning the truth. Caller said he bought the book for $1.95 when it was available. He goes on to mention that the constitution is gone since 1938.

77:19 Caller asks If cornering the silver market legal? Robby says JP Morgan is doing it now. There is going to be a class action suit against Morgan for silver manipulation according to Bob...He added that Morgan could likely end up just paying a fine..

Another informative program with Robby and Bob running the show.

Gold Surges As Euro Continues To Collapse

Bob Chapman on The Sovereign Economist 09 June 2010

From The International Forecaster Newsletter :"As we look forward we see money supply plunge to the same levels of the 1930s. This is the same thing the Fed did between 1929 and 1933. We have zero interest rates, but they really only help the large borrowers and those with AAA ratings. In the first quarter $300 billion was removed from the economy, or a contraction of 9.6%. By the way that proves the upward move in gold and silver have not been the result of anticipated inflation, but by other factors, such as Europe’s problems. We cited the fall a year ago of European M3 and M4 like figures, and as usual, no one was listening. We, as you can see, have had the same result in the US. These reductions obviously were well coordinated. In addition, the assets of institutional money market funds have fallen at a 47% rate, the sharpest drop ever. Part of this Fed move is for banks to raise capital asset ratios as the Fed removes and overpays them for their toxic assets, which the taxpayer gets to pay for. That in part is why banks won’t lend to small and medium-sized companies, and this is why there cannot be a recovery. The banks, Wall Street, and insurance companies are selectively being bailed out, irrespective of the consequence to the US and European economies. Unfortunately, we are following the path of the “Great Depression.” That means gold and silver are being purchased in a flight to quality. Yes, we believe inflation is on the way in bigger numbers, but unless things change dramatically it won’t be long before that inflation is overcome and deflationary depression takes hold."

Bob Chapman : do not expect the government to guarantee your bank account , it is bankrupt

Bob Chapman on Radio Liberty 06-07-10

Extract from The International forecaster of May 29 2010 :
"The U.S. government’s Aaa bond rating will come under pressure in the future unless additional measures are taken to reduce projected record budget deficits, according to Moody’s Investors Service Inc.

The U.S. retains its top rating for now because of a “high degree of economic and institutional strength,” the New York- based ratings company said in a statement today that was little changed from a credit opinion released in February. The outlook is stable, the statement said.

The government’s finances have been “substantially worsened by the credit crisis, recession, and government spending to address these shocks,” Moody’s analysts lead by Steven A. Hess wrote. “The ratios of general government debt to GDP and to revenue are deteriorating sharply, and after the crisis they are likely to be higher than the ratios of other Aaa-rated countries.”

Debt to revenue has more than doubled over the past three years and is now over 400 percent, which could lead to “potential stress” on finances, the report said.

“This whole financial crisis in Europe has actually benefited the U.S. government in its access to finance,” Hess said in a telephone interview. “The U.S. Treasury market has become once again, as it was during the recent financial crisis globally, the safe haven, and therefore lots of money flows into the U.S. Treasury market and that is a very positive.”

Tuesday morning rumors and a FT story about Germany extending its short-selling ban prevented US stocks from a larger opening decline and generated a rally after the opening onslaught.

One rumor said the ECB would cut its 1.00% benchmark rate by 50bps generated a rally in US stocks after the opening carnage.

Any ECB rate cut would pressure the euro, which in turn would induce traders to sell European sovereign debt, which would exacerbate Europe’s debt-death spiral.

On Tuesday morning, the NYSE invoked Rule 48, which allows the NYSE to suspend the requirement to disseminate price indications at the open. Looks like all that technology isn’t very useful – or does the opaqueness aid and abet the connected few in their desire to operate with ‘an edge’?

Tuesday’s rally got a second-stage boost during midday when Cong. Barney Frank stated that forcing banks to spin off their derivatives operations “goes too far” in regard to financial reform."

Gold at $36,000 Not as Ridiculous as It Sounds?

CNBC.com | May 26, 2010 | 07:20 AM EDT

Gold has reached record highs in recent weeks, but it will continue to rise, Ben Davies, CEO of Hinde Capital told CNBC Wednesday.

Gold should be viewed not as a commodity, but as a cash supplement, Davies said.

“There’s been such proliferation of currency,” he said. “As a consequence, gold is very undervalued.”

“I could be really obtuse and say $36, 000,” he said. “But actually it’s not as ridiculous as it might sound.”

If all the reported Fort Knox gold was re-valued at $36,000 per ounce, it would pay off all the debt in the US, he said.
On Monday, Dennis Gartman reversed his call for gold investors to rush to the exits, saying the precious metal was no longer overbought, but also warned that it was a technical call and he is "not a gold bug."

Bob Chapman : Deflationary Depression and Purging To Come

Bob Chapman on the Sovereign Economist 02 June 2010

Deflationary Depression and Purging To Come
What now that stimulus packages are ending, money set to plunge, market control by insiders has to end, Fed doesnt need a monopoly, bond sales down, still high expectations for gold.

We believe an inflationary depression began in February of 2009, and little has changed. Since then factory output has increased, as have inventories and other outward signs, such as retail sales. We believe that one-year spurt is ending, unless a new stimulus program is put in place. This past week we saw a $78 billion addition to unemployment benefits and Larry Summers has said they need an additional $200 billion. In order to keep the economy going sideways a total of another $800 billion will be needed. The Fed may have cut back the creation of money and credit to zero, but it is still dishing out trillions to domestic and foreign banks, which can only affect the domestic economy in a residual way. The key is real personal income. Including government programs it has fallen $500 billion over the past 16 months. In addition real unemployment remains at a high of 22-3/8%. That is U-6 less the birth/death ratio. This terrible dilemma is a first and is surprising in as much as government addition to income has gone past 18% for the first time ever. We expect that part of the reason for both situations is the perpetual drag of free trade, globalization, offshoring and outsourcing, which has continued unabated.

There is no question that the $800 billion stimulus has come to an end. During the past 16 months $200 billion of that $800 billion has shown up in consumer spending. The rest has raced through the economy and the result is a budget deficit in the vicinity of $1.8 trillion.

Over the past several months we have seen a decreasing number of new unemployed, but last month those official figures rose. That to us was the signal that the growth in employment had ended as well as the mini-recovery. We will know better the situation when May’s figures are released. The small increase in non-farm payroll tells us our appraisal of offshoring and outsourcing is correct. We predicted the effects of offshoring and outsourcing in 1967, but, of course, no one was listening. read more >>>

Bob Chapman on Gold and Silver Trading June 2 2010

Extract of THE INTERNATIONAL FORECASTER of SATURDAY, MAY 29, 2010 :
"The Greek tragedy continues as the IMF and others get ready to fund not only Greece, but all the PIIGS as well. That includes Canada, the UK, which has refused to contribute, because they are broke, and the US whose end will be about $60 billion. Greece is rolling their old debt in order to bail out the banks. It won’t be long before Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Italy will be doing the same thing. The other euro zone members are saying why should we bail out these countries, which in turn are bailing out banks?
These euro zone countries are saying all we did was what everyone else was doing. Governmental debt has hit unprecedented levels worldwide. It is now called a sovereign debt crisis. Any recovery in any of these countries will remain anemic as long as this situation exists. More debt is being created via stimulus in some countries, and in others austerity has begun. In the US real growth is only 1.3%, and that is fading fast having fallen from 6.5% in the fourth quarter.
The top participant was penalized in 1985 at the Plaza Accord and in 1987 at the Louvre Account and as a result entered depression in 1992. That is Japan. Their debt is now 200% of GDP. Structural impairment still sticks out like a sore thumb. They are trapped in the same quandary, as Europe is, growth via debt. It is interesting to note that if global military spending of $1.5 trillion ended there would be o trouble funding debt. The US spends more than $600 billion a year, or over 40% of the world’s total, so they can bludgeon the world’s inhabitants into doing what the US wants them to do, it is called tyranny.

Description:

John Stadtmiller - June 01 2010- Robby Noel, Bob Chapman- Roundtable

____________________________________________
John hosts a weekly Financial Roundtable with Robby Noel and Bob Chapman. John is on the RBN network with his own show called The National Intel Report and runs the network as well. Some say this is the best two hours in radio.

______________________________________________

John Stadtmiller, one of America’s true radio trailblazers with his early creation of “Republic International” (later renamed “Genesis Communications Network”), and now the “Republic Broadcasting Network”, the fastest growing truth radio station in the country.

John’s “National Intel Report” is hard hitting and to the point with information you won’t find in the mainstream media. If you believe the Constitution is the law of the land, but sense that something is seriously wrong in our country, then listen to the “National Intel Report” for the best guests, news and information!
_________________________________________________

RBN has some of the best informative shows out there. Their archives are only $1.33 per month. I suggest supporting them and then you don't have to wait for their shows to be uploaded here.
Highlights:

RBN is now on KTMR 1130 AM Converse, Texas serving nearby San Antonio....Austin and Dallas/Forth Worth are next. Indianapolis is coming soon.

Unemployment is about 23 % in the United States. John mentions that he has been doing this type of show for 20 years because the media isn't doing their job. He goes on to mention that the mainstream media listens to him even though they can't report on the truth.

Bob says with the situation with Israel...Gold should be up $50.

John mentions that the Israeli's scoop up raw sewage and shoot it on Palestinian homes. The only country that hasn't condemned Israel is the United States.

Turkey is going to send a couple of warships to Gaza. You have to go to a foreign news source like Russian TV to get the truth on news about Israel. (Note: RT Russia Today video clips are available on You Tube).

John mentions that some Orthodox Jews don't believe in Israel because the only way they could have a country is when their Messiah comes back. This fact is heavily censored by mainstream media.

Robby again mentions about that Christian Zionism film and John offers to give John Hagee's parishioners free copies of the film. John went on to mention that he is going after Hagee with a vengeance.

Overall, this was a very good program .

Extract from the THE INTERNATIONAL FORECASTER of SATURDAY, MAY 29, 2010 : "
On Wednesday spot gold rose $13.50 to $1,213.30, as June traded up $13.40. Spot silver, which has been up $0.54 ended there, but didn’t fare that well in July, ending up $0.39. At one time gold was up $17.00. The dollar continues to rally, or should we say the euro continues to tank. When the USDX was 89 last year and gold was $900 an ounce. Today gold is over $1,200 an ounce. The dollar was strong, but gold was stronger. The euro should be basing out over $1.20. If that happens the dollar head and shoulders will be completed. The dollar will either break out higher, which we doubt, or it will break down and test 74 again. The elitists have to inflate or the system collapses. Inflation, which is currently 8%, will soon turn into hyperinflation. Already the administration is asking for $100 billion. It will take a minimum of five times that to keep the economy from slipping into oblivion. GLD supposedly gained 47 tons in two days. That explains why the derivative market was so busy. Like Germany and Switzerland, gold is being used as money in Greece. This reflects the insanity of governments and those who control them. It also proves that the only way you can protect your assets is by owning gold. Soon Americans will catch on and the stampede will be on, only with none being offered. June open interest is very large at this juncture – some 156,156 contracts, which go to first notice on May 28th. They must be paid to stand for delivery, sold or rolled. That is 15 million ounces of gold or five times dealer inventory, or 21% of global annual production. The word in from Australia is that the definition of super profit has been increased to 11-12 percent from six percent. These people are true idiots."

Bob Chapman : Fiat Money And Schemes Collapsing

Bob Chapman on The Goldseek Radio 29 May 2010

Goldman Sachs will get a hand slap, the Greek Tragedy continues, signs of growth not real, more market manipulation to report on, never incremental news, a broken system of risk-free trade and return

The DOE reported crude oil inventories up 646,000 barrels, gasoline fell 3.19 m/b and distillates rose 1.52 m/b.

The commercial paper market fell again by $2.6 billion to $1.073 trillion.

Goldman Sachs wants to settle with the SEC exactly as we predicted. They would neither admit nor deny and be fined $1 to $ 2 billion, which is chump change to them.

Lehman is seeking return of $8.6 billion that JPMorgan Chase seized before Lehman filed for bankruptcy. The claim is Morgan had unparalleled inside knowledge. There is no honor among thieves.

Part of the deflationary mode is borrowers are paying down debt and saving at a 3.4% rate. It could be the elitists, as we speculated months ago, want to take down the entire world financial system in the next 1-1/2 to 2 years. Hi Ho stimulus. The fiat Ponzi scheme is collapsing.read more >>>

Sovereign credit-default swap transactions face mandatory disclosure

extract from Bob Chapman's the International forecaster of 26 May 2010 : "Sovereign credit-default swap transactions face mandatory disclosure rules in the wake of the Greek debt crisis, the European Union’s financial services commissioner said. Michel Barnier said he would deal with the sovereign CDS market ‘very severely.’ Credit-rating companies should also be subject to tougher transparency rules when rating a country’s ability to pay back its debt, he said. ‘These people don’t like being out in the light of day,’ Barnier said of sovereign CDS traders. ‘We’ll flood them with light.’ German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy have called for curbs on speculating with sovereign credit-default swaps, which many blame for exacerbating Greece’s fiscal woes. They have also called for a review of European Union rules regulating credit-ratings companies."

Bob Chapman : Dysfunctional Markets That Change Every Hour

Bob Chapman on the Sovereign Economist 19 May 2010

extracts from the latest issue of the International forecaster :"
markets too hard to follow, Euro bailout continues to fail, Fed the source of liquidity for ECB, Bank failures and home losses continue, layoffs rise, Goldman Sachs likely to payout for SEC suit, California pension pressures, deflation fears,

Keeping up with today’s dysfunctional markets is very difficult because they change hour by hour. The problems of Europe have stolen center stage from US problems. The focus is on Europe, but we all should remember trillions of dollars have been injected into the US financial system since mid-2007. All are attempting to maintain the façade that all is well, when in fact all is not well. Underlying assets are worth far less than their stated value. As a symptom of this corporate bank lending has fallen off a cliff and in Europe it doesn’t exist. Without such lending there can be no recovery. The American implosion will now be repeated in Europe. The green shoots of recovery have now turned into poison ivy. The abyss has again been filled with more debt and more fiat currency. In the process the Fed and now the ECB have lost all credibility.

The $1 trillion initial package to save the euro thus far has been a failure as the euro continues its decent. This bailout plan has US fingerprints all over it. The elitists figured they could take down the entire system in 1-1/2 to 2 years, but the poster child Greece didn’t cooperate, so all their plans have been split asunder. As far as the bailout is concerned will the effort be stopped in German courts and will the austerity programs in the weak countries work? Greek citizens say no. We will just have to see if they are serious. Do not forget that the bogus books in Greece are nothing different than almost all nations have been engaged in. Greece is no better or worse than the rest. Again, like the US, Europe is only trying to buy time. In fact, Mr. Trichet and Mrs. Merkel tell us officially that is what they are up too, buying time. This is not a situation where Greece acted alone; every nation has been doing something very similar. What is different this time is that the Greeks have responded with rage over the past month. As a result of that, the falling euro and skepticism as to whether the stimulus will work has pushed acceptance in the wrong direction.

Needless to say, all these machinations have led to deep disappointment in the wealthier EU member countries. At this point we don’t see cooperation between Greeks and their government and the bureaucrats led by a Bilderberger. On the other side the other members of the EU and the IMF refuse to conduct a bailout, which is supposed to protect the members. The Greek government may have signed the treaty, but the Greek populace hasn’t. Stringent austerity measures are not something they’ll stand still for encompassing the next ten years."

Mortgage purchase applications sank 27.1 percent to the lowest level since May 1997
in the absence of the popular government support, the group said. U.S. housing groped for footing after more than a year of homebuyer tax credits worth up to $8,000 expired on April 30. Requests for home purchase loans have fallen almost 20 percent over the past month despite low borrowing costs. "It's disturbing," said John Canally, economist at LPL Financial in Boston.
"It seems that every other data point for housing is pretty good -- high affordability, low interest rates, relatively low inventory, home prices are up -- so I'm leaning toward the hangover from the tax credit but I'm going to need to see a couple of more weeks of data." Overall loan requests were down 1.5 percent, on a seasonally adjusted basis, in the week ended May 14, cushioned by a 14.5 percent jump in mortgage refinancing applications as home loan rates neared historic lows.
Average 30-year mortgage rates fell 0.13 percentage point last week to 4.83 percent, the lowest since last November, the MBA said. The record low was 4.61 percent in March 2009, based on the group's survey, which has been conducted since 1990.
Refinancing applications jumped to a nine-week high and accounted for about 68 percent of all applications last week.
But buyers took a low profile after rushing en masse to take advantage of the tax incentive. "The data continue to suggest that the tax credit pulled sales into April at the expense of the remainder of the spring buying season," Michael Fratantoni, the industry group's vice president of research and economics, said in a statement.
The MBA separately reported that total U.S. home loans that are late paying or in foreclosure eased in the first quarter but remained near record highs, largely because the country's unemployment rate remains elevated.
One out of seven U.S. households with a mortgage ended the first quarter late on payments or in the foreclosure process.
With the tax credits gone, home shoppers will take more time to find the right property, said Marc Demetriou, branch manager/mortgage consultant at Residential Home Funding Corp in Bloomingdale, New Jersey.
"Unemployment is definitely still an issue and inventory is still an issue, but it's definitely a buyer's market," he said. However, "people that were serious about buying worked very hard and spent a lot of time and effort to find the right house to get in for April 30," when the tax credit expired,
U.S. borrowers have gotten a hand from Europe, on worry that roughly $1 trillion in emergency funding might not be enough to stabilize euro zone debt markets. Investors have fled for the safest securities, slicing the U.S. Treasury yields that are used as a peg for mortgage rates.
Low borrowing costs and stabilizing home prices are being offset by the near double-digit U.S. unemployment rate and a looming supply of foreclosed properties yet to hit the market. The worst of the housing crisis is over but recovery will be long and slow, most economists agree."
